The Bible says that God is “a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness” (Psalm 86:15 ). Moreover, He renews His compassion every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). My brother, my sister, as Christians, we must act as Christ showed us by showing us the attributes of the Heavenly Father. Several times, Jesus shows His compassion for others: when his friends were weeping at Lazarus’ grave, He was moved with compassion for them, and wept (John 11:33-35); He showed compassion to the sufferings of others thus He healed large crowds of people who had come to Him (Matthew 14:14) and those who sought His healing (Mark 1:40-41). Very often, His compassion led Him to teach things that false shepherds of Israel had abandoned. My friends, the Bible is clear that compassion is an attribute of God. Being made in the image of God, His people has this same attribute. However, many of God’s children continue to behave like the proud and corrupt priests and scribes, despising the poor and simple people and ignoring the teachings of our Master, who, up to the Cross did not lack compassion even for those who had crucified Him. Stay blessed in the name of Jesus.
