In this passage, we read that the devil uses the Scripture to try to convince Jesus to sin. Sometimes, we meet people who are trying to present attractive or convincing reasons to us, that they even support with Bible verses. My brother, my sister, if you did not know it, then learn it today: whoever knows the Word of God has an advantage over you. You see, the devil knows the Scripture, so if you don’t know the Scripture he can always have control over your life, and put any lies into your mind… and you will believe it just like you may believe a friend who is trying to convince you to do something, and you end up trusting that friend even though you know what you’re doing is not entirely right. Indeed, if you lack knowledge by what the Word of God says, anyone can find Bible verses that seem to support their viewpoint, to bring you to follow them. Therefore, study the Word of God, my friend. Yes, meditate it carefully, so that you can understand God’s principles for living and what He wants for your life. In order to avoid falling into the traps of the devil or people who misinterpret the Bible to suit their own needs by taking verses out of context and twist them to say what they want them to say, you have only one choice: read, meditate and always ask the Lord for discernment about His Word! Yes, don’t be a listener of the Word, but rather a doer of the Word. Therefore, whatever message you hear at church tomorrow, when you return home, ensure you open your Bible and read it again, asking the Lord to help you apply it in your life, for His Word is the Living Word. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name. [retweet] [facebook]
