TODAY’S MEDITATION – Jesus demands your all (Philippians 3:7-8)

When reading the four Gospels, we notice that a large crowd of people always followed Jesus wherever he went. What is strange is that among them, you had those believed in Him, those who where curious about who He was, those who did not believe in Him, those who wanted to stone Him, etc… My brother, my sister, only a few people among of those who surrounded Jesus as He ministered thought that His journey to Jerusalem was a victory march for the crowning of the Messiah. Therefore, some people wanted to be there when he claimed his throne, expecting to grab a share of His glory when He is crowned… so they were there for themselves! Our churches today are full with different kind of Christians. What kind of a christian are you? Know that Jesus is telling us we should not consider becoming His follower without fully understanding what it demands and without first counting the cost (Luke 14:28-32). Yes, to follow Him, it has to be completely or not at all. And to be committed to Him, you must put your father and mother, your wife and children on the second position. My friend, nothing that this world has to offer can compare to the greatness of knowing Jesus Christ. Yes, once we see Christ for who He i, and we taste the sweetness of his love and grace, we will not see His demands as a sacrifice. Instead, we will see this as our natural response to His beauty and grace. There is great joy in offering Him more and more of yourself, as your deepest desire will be to grow in your knowledge of Christ. This is what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
