Our heart! Our feelings of love and desire come from our heart and sometimes they can dictate to a great extent how we live because we always find time to do what we enjoy. My brother, my sister, in these verses, Solomon is telling us to guard our hearts above everything else, making sure we concentrate on those desires that will keep us on the right path. Therefore, make sure your affections lead you in the right direction. Put boundaries on your desires if necessary and don’t go after everything you see. The world says everything that glitters is not gold, and for your spiritual life, it is the same! Look straight and keep your eyes focus ed on Jesus, and don’t get sidetracked on detours that could lead you to sin or hell. Stay connected with our Lord and Saviour by guarding your heart pure from vile desires, vain works or vile ambitions. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
