Today’s passage says this: “When the watchman sees the enemy coming, he sounds the alarm to warn the people. Then if those who hear the alarm refuse to take action, it is their own fault if they die. They heard the alarm but ignored it, so the responsibility is theirs. If they had listened to the warning, they could have saved their lives. But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and doesn’t sound the a…larm to warn the people, he is responsible for their captivity. They will die in their sins, but I will hold the watchman responsible for their deaths.’”
The Lord uses many people as watchmen, but do we always acknowledge them? Most of the time, we want to hear only good things to come about our lives. What about the warnings God is giving us to avoid us going through hardships? My brother, my sister, God knows the unknown that we don’t know. So, If He is calling you to warn you about something or even someone, don’t overlook His warnings. Most of the time, we look at the messenger and ignore the message they brought us.
Let’s recall that the greatest warnings we can receive is found in the Word of God. My friend, when we mirror ourselves in Its truthful and unchanging light, do we see things the Lord is asking us to do, to change, to consider? unless we stopped reading the Word as if it was just another book or we stopped taking the Word we are preached as just another preaching, we may never hear the call or warnings of the Lord. Nevertheless, whether we ignore them or not, God will hold either us or the messenger (it they did not give His message) accountable.
My friend, have you heard any alarm but ignoring it? It is not about how you heard it or who rang it for you to hear it. It’s about the alarm that convinced your spirit and that is telling you that you character needs to change, your habits need to change, your lifestyle needs to change… because they are not aligned with the Word of God. Then, set your mind to do something from this very day. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
