Today’s passage says this: “Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.”
My brother, my sister, access to God, the joy of living in the Temple courts where God was in the Tabernacle was a great honour. Yes, God had chosen a special group of Israelites from the tribe of Levi to serve as priests in theTabernacle (Numbers 3:5-51). do you realise that only the Levites could enter the sacred rooms where God’s presence resided, after performing so many purification rituals. But, in His amazing and merciful love, God thought of you and meand sent Jesus. Today, because of Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection, all believers have access to God’s presence in every place and at any time, for the Spirit of God comes to dwell in whoever repents from living in the darkness of the world to embrace the abundant life that Christ has freely offered us.
Yes, today, the Bible says “you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light” (1 Peter 2:9). Let’s therefore realise who we are in Christ and follow His principles… The privilege of being called a Christian is not given to all because many are still blinded, so they are still in the darkness in the world; so they can follow only what they know. As followers of Christ, our lives should be examples the world should imitate, for God cannot make His Kingdom come on earth through unbelievers. He can do it through those who partake in the inheritage of His Son. Do you realise how privileged you are? Now, what are you doing with your privilege? When Kate Middleton was welcomed into the royal family of the United Kingdom, she had to change her habits and lifestyle to fit in her new family, then she could start representing this family in England and around the world. How sad to see that many believers are welcomed in the Body of Christ, but do not change, fit in or adapt to it in order to represent it… yet they want God’s blessings, they ask the Lord to send them to represent Him. My friend, the privilege comes with responsibilities. Today I pray that God will truly make us understand how valuable we are to Him and how He would like to count on us , enough to send us to represent Christ in our Jerusalem and around the world for His glory. Stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
