Sometimes it is difficult to know how to deal with believers who show themselves too zealous and take actions that affect others. In these verses, Apostle Paul gives us a slight insight of what to do when we need to deal with those kind of believers. My brother, my sister, not everything is good or beneficial for you. We should, of course, be sensitive and gracious as Christians because our goal is not about what people would think about what we are doing; the same, a Christians should not make decisions showing himself/herself insensitive to the others’ questions, desires or wishes. However, we should never forget that some of our actions may not be wrong, yet they may not be in the best interest of others. Then what should you do as a Christian? That is the reason why the Bible is telling us here that in Christ we have freedom, but we should not exercise our freedom at the cost of hurting our Christian brothers or sisters or anyone. We are not to consider ourselves only; we must always consider the needs and perspectives of others before making decisions as Christians, especially when those decisions affect the others: ” ‘I have the right to do anything,’ you say – but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’– but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others” ‘1 Corinthians 10:23-24). Let’s always ask the Lord for His wisdom before making decisions. stay blessed in Jesus’ name.
