TODAY’S MEDITATION – Your tongue can be your greatest enemy! (Psalm 12:2-4)

The Bible is not only the Book of Law, it is also our greatest advisory guide. Sometimes, in our walk with God, things can become difficult for us, making us feel lonely or urging us to distort the truth for our own advantage. My brother, my sister, a lie is a lie, even if we believe it to be relatively harmless, even when we think it is useful. God does not overlook lies, flattery, deception, boasting, etc… all those things that are expressed in our speech. Your tongue can be your greatest enemy because, though small, it can cause great damage (James 3:5-6). And never forget that the Bible warns us: “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21. Therefore we should be careful what we say about ourselves, about our loved ones or about people around us. Some parents spend time cursing their children and then do not understand why nothing is working in the life of their children! The power of the tongue… my friend, Sometimes, silence is the best remedy for the unwanted circumstances we are going through, for “Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity” (Proverbs 21:23). Yes, sometimes, we ourselves turn a simple headache due to a lack of sleep into a big migraine, because of our complaints or loud whispers… Let’s learn to live as the Lord has taught us, giving Him thanks for ALL the circumstances of our lives, whether good or bad and use our tongues only to glorify Him. Stay bless in Jesus’ name.
